iPhone shipments may be  virtually flat this year at 150 million units this year  compared to 134 million units last year, says IHS

Q1 iPhone shipments were 37.4 million units, Samsung Q1 smartphone shipments were 69.4 million units and iPhone 5S is not expected for a couple of months.

Furthermore, DigiTimes reports that iPhone 5S shipments may be affected by poor yields of fingerprint recognition ICs and LCD driver ICs out of  TSMC.

Worldwide smartphone shipments will be 897 million units this year and 1.5 billion units in 2017, says IHS. Last year they were 712 million units.1.1 billion units  will ship in 2014,  1.2 billion in 2015  and 1.4 billion in 2016.

Selling only 150 million iPhones this year will signal that iPhone has lost much  of the lustre it gained with consumers when it launched iPhone in 2007.
